Lightning roulette is the game people describe wrongly more often than any other on the Lizaro live floor. The headline is a 500x multiplier; the fine print is that the table quietly cuts the standard straight-up payout to fund it. Neither half of that sentence is a criticism — it is simply how the maths is built, and knowing both halves is the difference between an informed bet and a hopeful one. But if that number is struck at 500x, the same 1 000 Ft returns 500 000 Ft. You are giving up a guaranteed slice of every ordinary win in exchange for a small chance at a very large one — the classic volatility swap, made explicit.

The payout table, and the exception that matters

Splits, streets, corners and lines pay their conventional ratios and are never eligible for a strike. Red, black, odd, even, dozens and columns likewise. The multiplier applies to exactly one bet type: a chip sitting alone on a single number. Everything else on the felt is ordinary roulette at ordinary odds.

97.30% versus 97.10%: the split nobody reads

Two RTP figures on one table confuse people, so here is the plain version. If you only bet red or black, your expected return is the standard single-zero 97.30% — the lightning layer is irrelevant to you and costs you nothing. If you only bet straight-up numbers, your expected return is 97.10%, because the 29:1 reduction slightly outweighs the multiplier value over the long run.

Twenty basis points is small. Over 500 rounds at 2 000 Ft that is a difference of about 2 000 Ft in expectation — real, but not the reason anyone wins or loses a session. Variance dwarfs it. The point of quoting both numbers is honesty about what the feature costs, not a warning to avoid it.

Sizing stakes in Ft when one number can pay 500x

The temptation on this table is to spread chips across a dozen numbers so that a strike is more likely to land somewhere you are covered. That works arithmetically but it multiplies your per-round cost. Twelve numbers at 200 Ft each is 2 400 Ft a round; at roughly 60 rounds an hour that is 144 000 Ft of turnover in a single hour, against which the 2.7% house edge costs about 3 900 Ft in expectation.

A narrower approach our editors preferred: pick three to five numbers, keep them constant, and fund at least 80 rounds. Three mistakes, all of them common. First, assuming a struck number carries over to the next round — it does not; the draw is fresh every time and there is no memory. Second, expecting a red or black win to be enhanced when a red number was struck — outside bets are never eligible, no matter what lit up. Third, placing a straight-up bet as part of a corner or split and expecting the multiplier — a chip on the line between numbers is a different bet and does not qualify.

The fourth, slower mistake is treating the multiplier animation as information. It is presentation. Whether the strikes look dramatic or dull has no bearing on where the ball goes.
